Why do breweries need dry compressed air?
Compressed air plays an indispensable role in breweries around the world. From beginning to end, all details of the brewing process are carefully managed, with suitablecompressed air dryingis no exception.
Breweries rely on a continuous supply of qualified compressed air and nitrogen as key elements at every stage of the production process: from cleaning kegs and cans, oxygenating beer to promote fermentation, all the way to filling, bottling, labeling and packaging the final product.
When an air compressor is used in a brewery for bottling, keg cleaning, etc., the compression of ambient air will suck in humidity and particles floating in the air. This concentration of liquid and contaminants can enter downstream of the compressor, causing a number of problems for the brewery. Since breweries must pay great attention to hygiene, preventing these contaminants and moisture from entering the beer is a priority.
For this, a filter and a freeze dryer are required. The filter prevents particles and contaminants from damaging the final product. The dryer prevents moisture and condensation from entering beer, packages and kegs. The dryer also helps prevent the actuator in the bottling line from clogging or rusting due to excessive condensation time. This keeps the packaging line running and reduces downtime.
In addition to drying the air and preventing pollution, the brewery also turned to the use of nitrogen to increase the texture and carbonization of the beer, and used nitrogen in the packaging.
Nitrogen is less expensive to produce and store than carbon dioxide, and when used in the carbonation process, it also adds a fuller, smoother texture to the beer.
The drying and purification requirements for general power gas and sterile compressed air in breweries are as follows:dew point-23℃; dust content particle size is less0.1μm; oil-free; sterile. Press aboveAir qualityThe general power gas of the brewery only needs to be matched with a double tower adsorption dryer and a primary filter to meet the requirements.
However, the requirement of asepsis has greatly increased the workload and difficulty of purification. Although users have used oil-free lubricated compressors as a power source, the oil content in the air in the general factory environment has reached8×10^(-6)Above, so the system still needs to match the oil filter.
In order to remove gaseous oil vapor, toxic aerosol and odor and other organic gases, but also need to support the activated carbon filter. The activated carbon adsorbent in the activated carbon filter will produce fine particles under the action of the air flow, which will produce new pollution to the gas source. Therefore, a dust filter is added after the activated carbon filter. The compressed air stream has been dried, dusted and deoiled here, and the next functional section is sterilization. The main use can be regenerated sterilization filter sterilization, sterilization filter is usually used borosilicate fiber, high pressure, high temperature direct molding, in the use of a period of time, such2hAfter, use again120The above high-temperature steam is filled into the filter for sterilization.
